Now most of this reading was pretentious gibberish to me, but one sentence caught my eye;
"It is through the death of the social that socialism will emerge..."
This quote to me indicates that the writer is coming from a very american perspective, one that i tend to hold critically.
honestly, i thought i would have more to say on that quote, but i really don't. in my education classes i have learned that it doesn't matter if you know every word in a sentence, if you don't have the correct background knowledge on the topic your brain will not be able to bridge the gap between the words and create meaning. the text lacked meaning to me because i lack background on the topic, and thus words that should mean something turn into alphabet soup on the page.
