The Absurd

 Authors Note: This series of work is meaningless, unconnected, confusing, and ABSURD. I drew inspiration from no one and no thing, using only the rhythm of my heart to guide me. If i were forced to pin point a source of inspiration though, I would use a song by the fictional band in the hit tv show "Thats So Raven" that has been stuck in my head for weeks to no avail. It goes as follows:
"Looking for the beat inside, show me what youre trying to hide, I can feel the rhythm of your heart oooOOOooooo"
When this ends up in a museum, I imagine a curator asking me "How proud are you of this work?" I hope at time I will be brave enough to admit that I am not proud of this work at all. not even a little. To be frank to my fans, all of this stuff went into the recycling after i took the photos. and that influences my final note, which is that does art need to exist in the physical realm to be considered art? is my art still art if it was only alive for moments? I will leave y'all to think on that.

"the museum, instead of being circumscribed in a geometrical location, is now everywhere, like a dimension of life itself." -baurdrillard 16 this section of Simulations  had me thinking about museums and the things humans claim are valuable. baudrillard claims that without stockpiling the past, humans lose their lineage and their culture, which i don't think i agree with. human beings are such fluid creatures, constantly changing each moment, maybe letting go of the past would provide for a more successful future. hell, we've been stockpiling for centuries but look where that got us these days... "...everything is dead and risen in the past..." baudrillard 13 also got my gears going about if our lives are already predestined, which makes this class and these readings pretty amusing to me.

Marshall McLuhan stated, “Environments are not passive wrappings, but are, rather, active processes which are invisible. The groundrules, pervasive structure, and over-all patterns of environments elude easy perception.” Returning from Pakistan exactly a month ago, this quote spoke louder to me than ever. The unsaid cultural and gendered norms, traditions and rules in Pakistan were a stark contrast to the "woke," "sexually liberated," and "pro-woman" society that America likes to claim. Though America seems to be all these things after three weeks spend in the homeland. Growing up in a country where as a woman I have the freedom (without people staring or saying something to me) to drive, ride a motorcycle without having to sit side-saddle on the back, go out by myself, hold a career, marry as I please and to whom I please, I was frustrated at first.
