showtime

having my work never shown in a formal gallery setting, i found the "something is happening" mudd gallery opening to be super exciting. it reminded me of a quote from McLuhan where he states, "Environments are not passive wrappings, but are, rather, active processes which are invisible. the groundrules, pervasive structure, and over-all patterns of environments elude easy perception" (McLuhan 68).  this is one of my favorite quotes from the whole book and seemed relevant to the mudd gallery exhibition where McLuhan's idea of the global village became clear to me. we all had photos taken in specific environments then brought them all together into one space to witness them all. it was pretty neat.
